The Card Design:
What we do with our hands here on earth can have a lasting impact on the lives of others. With our hands, we can create, serve, help, build, and ultimately love. This design is a reminder to us all to intentionally desire to love and create positive change not only with your hands, but also with your heart.
The Artist:
They say that life begins outside of your comfort zone and Brian Peterson is a true testament to that theory. Art is nothing new for Brian. His artistic skills were discovered by his 4th grade teacher in Miami, FL and he's had a passion ever since. Brian attended art programs all through school before graduating from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2009 with a degree in Industrial Design. His industrial focused career left his desire to paint on the back burner as he pursued his dream job as a Sr. Automotive Designer at Kia Design Center America.
In 2015, Brian discovered his acceptance of faith and in Jesus which ultimately reignited his passion for creativity and the desire to create alongside God. This reemergence of artistic life started with addressing the "Elephant in the Room." For the first time in his life, Brian was able to connect his love for art, his community, and Jesus together to form The Faces of Santa Ana. The Faces of Santa Ana is a non – profit organization that focuses on homelessness and the rehabilitation of our neighbors in Santa Ana, CA.
Chris Rogers
Most people that are successful are those that just kept going, and learned from their failures, and had fun with the process. That’s what I try to do.

The Card Design:
"The composition is dedicated to the Mother. Purple and turquoise signify royalty and virility. Yellow is a fresh, optimistic and whimsical color, three attributes that were instilled and nurtured in me by my mother. The hummingbird symbolizes levity and optimism. The bird’s feathers are the same palette as Mother’s nebula, to communicate that the bird is always home and never lost as long as it remembers the light that is always inside."
The Artist:
Chris was born on Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC. From a young age, Chris exhibited an acute sense for self-expression by drawing on any and everything his hands could reach. Ever since he could hold a crayon, he's been drawing and recording what his mind can imagine.
Chris attended Pomfret School (Pomfret, CT) in the fall of '99. It was there that he was first introduced to the world of paint. Chris’ instructor at Pomfret School, Mr. Brewster, not only encouraged Chris to take up painting, but he inspired him to pursue it into college and beyond.
Chris' artistic passion was accompanied by his love for soccer and ice hockey, both of which he played in Geneva, New York at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. There he excelled athletically and academically, earning his B.A. in Studio Art (concentrated in Painting, Drawing, and Graphic Design.)
Since graduating in '06, Chris has gained momentum in his artistic pursuits which include painting live, commercial and residential mural work, and freelance acrylic and oil paintings. Since moving to Austin, Texas, his artwork has been featured and sited in local, national and international media outlets, from "The Austin-American Statesman,"" "The Chronicle,"" and "Austin Monthly" to "Newsweek" and "The New York Times.""
Thomas "Detour" Evans
Sometimes it’s really hard to pinpoint what makes someone successful because every journey is different, but we can all end up at the same spot in the end.

The Card Design:
This artwork is from the Gods of Color series that explore the boundaries of color and narrative. Because color can be used to convey many emotions and feelings, I explore the idea of using color to create abstract narratives through surreal imagery and allow the viewer to create their own story about the composition.
The Artist:
Thomas Evans, a.k.a. Detour, is an all-around creative specializing in large scale public art, interactive visuals, portraiture, immersive spaces, and creative directing. His focus is to create work where art and innovation meet. A born collaborator and "military brat," Detour pulls from every conceivable experience that shapes his landscapes and perspectives.
Explaining Detour's work is no easy task, as ongoing experimentations in visual art, music, and interactive technologies have his practice continually expanding. With his ever-evolving approach to art, Detour's focus is on expanding customary views of creativity and challenging fine-art paradigms by mixing traditional mediums with new approaches—all the while opening up the creative process from that of a singular artist, to one that thrives on multi-layered collaboration and viewer participation.
Detour continues to work in many mediums while now teaching others aspiring artists how to navigate the rough waters of the art industry.
